CPHQ Preparation Course

Introduction

The purpose of certification is to promote excellence and professionalism. The program certifies individuals who demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in this field by passing a written examination.

The CPHQ designation provides the healthcare employer and the public with the assurance that certified individuals possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience in healthcare quality to perform competently.

The content of the CPHQ examination is designed to test if the candidate possesses the knowledge necessary to perform the task and/or has the ability to apply it to a job situation based on the tasks they perform as a part of their job. Each question on the exam links directly to one of the tasks listed in the content outline.

A professional in healthcare quality was defined as having experience in managing and/or conducting activities in one or more of the following areas of expertise in healthcare quality:

  1. Performance and process improvement,
  2. Care coordination,
  3. Population health,
  4. Data analytics, measurement, and analysis,
  5. Patient safety,
  6. Risk management, and
  7. Compliance with standards and regulations.
